After someone buys your course, you need a "consumption sequence" - a series of automated emails to help them actually use what they bought.
Why? Because humans are about as logical as a bag of cats. They'll buy stuff and never log in.
Send emails every 1-2 days for 2-3 weeks.
Here's what to include:
1. Resell the product. Same pitch, but with "log in now" instead of "buy now". Remind them why they bought.
2. Tease specific parts of the course. "In module 3 you'll learn X..." with direct links to log in.
3. Keep sending testimonials. Post-purchase, they remind buyers what's possible and motivate them to work.
4. Tell stories that reinforce your teaching philosophy. Let them dive deeper into your world.
5. Present relevant upsells. If you've got something that could help them succeed, don't hide it.
6. Push community engagement. Get them to join your student community and introduce themselves.
7. Address common problems before they arise. Shows you understand their journey.
8. Survey after 1-2 weeks. Simple Google form, open-ended feedback. Learn what works.
9. Request testimonials after 2-3 weeks. Not everyone will respond, but over time you'll build a solid bank.
Most value in education comes from selling to existing customers. But that only works if they actually use what they bought first.
The end goal? Get them to consume the product and get the transformation they paid for. That's how you build a sustainable business.
